Dr. Colleen Powers is a Board Certified Dermatologist who enjoys medical, surgical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology. She grew up in Mandeville/Covington, Louisiana and is a graduate of Mandeville High School. She went on to graduate magna cum laude from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and minor in Biochemistry. She was also a graduate of the Honors Program in the Baylor Honors College. There she was selected by faculty members to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest academic honor society. She then completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. During that time, she received the distinct honor of being selected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was further selected to be president of this prestigious organization. She was also selected for the Henry W. Jolly Award in Dermatology for the student exemplifying qualities of a good physician and dermatologist. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. There she served as the Academic Chief Resident and was selected to receive the first Robert T. Brodell, MD award, which recognizes a resident who contributes the most to a culture of positivity, selfless service to others, and volunteerism. She has published articles and given presentations on various topics in dermatology throughout her training. She holds memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, and Mississippi Dermatology Society.

Dr. Powers is excited to start her career in Dermatology in Jackson, Mississippi. Her husband, Evan Powers, is finishing his training in Jackson as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Adult Reconstruction. Outside of clinic, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, cooking, tennis, Baylor and LSU athletics, and playing with her chocolate lab, Burreaux.
